Week 8

This week has been another busy one! We have been having great fun at swimming everyday and we also had a special visit from Mrs Elmore who came to teach us all about how to sort our rubbish in school.

We have also been busy practising for our assembly on Friday - 2pm in the hall. Hope to see you there!

Week 6

On Thursday this week we were lucky enough to have 3 special visitors - Dana and Sandy came along to teach us all about dog safety, and then a little later Tessa taught us how to be money superheroes! We learnt about the different notes and coins we have in New Zealand, as well as the difference between 'needs' and 'wants', and how to think carefully about what to spend our money on. Following on from our sunflower planting last week, we also did some drawing and writing about sunflowers. Check out our beautiful artwork!
Next week we are looking forward to going on our trip to the trampoline park on Tuesday, and the Cultural Picnic on Thursday. Hope to see you there!

Week 5

This week in Team Time it was our turn to build dens and tents with Miss Pratley. It was lots of fun - and another lovely day! Thanks again to Juliella and Blake's mums who came along to help. Next week we are looking forward to doing baking with Mrs Durkin.

Week 6 looks like being another busy week with athletics on Tuesday and sessions on Financial Literacy and Dog Safety on Thursday. Thursday is also the final cultural picnic meeting before the actual event on 26 November, the following week. Don't forget to email your recipes to the lead teacher of your group!

Week 4

Another exciting week in Room 1! Mrs Elmore came to visit on Wednesday and took us on a tour of some of the Pou around school. Each one represents one of the guardians from the Maori creation story, In The Beginning, reminding us of the different ways we can look after the environment. We also had our first Team Time session and went on a nature scavenger hunt - the only thing we couldn't find were clouds!! It was such a beautiful day!
