We went on a visit to the Stardome today! We learned all about day and night, the earth and the moon with Vanessa. Then we went in the planetarium and watched a movie called 'The Star That Could' and found out lots of cool things about stars and the planets in our solar system.
Room 1 is the Reception room at Meadowbank School. We love learning and working together, as well as having lots of fun!

Our trip to Auckland Museum
On Thursday we went on trip to Auckland Museum. We had a great time looking at all the different exhibits including the dinosaurs and volcano, as well as being palaeontologists- exploring different sorts of fossils and bones as part of our teaching session! Thanks to all the parents who came along to help out.
Term 3 - week 1&2
Welcome to term 3! Another busy start to the term in room 1. Our topic this term is 'Exploration'. We have been on an exploration walk around school to see what we can find. We have also begun to think about how scientists explore ideas by asking questions; making predictions and testing their ideas. We carried out an experiment to see what happens when you mix vinegar and baking soda - with explosive results!!
